Dry, Cracked Lips? Brown Sugar Scrub to the Rescue!
October 20, 2014
I love cold weather, especially when I'm bundled up in a snug down jacket with big thick mittens and a cozy hat rounding it all out. But no matter how well bundled I get, my poor lips take the brunt of the bad weather. During cold-weather seasons you'll always find me with a (Wholemade by Jen) lip balm in my coat pocket, but sometimes despite my best efforts my lips will get chapped and dry.
When your kisser starts cracking, give it a good scrub! And I mean a GOOD scrub. Using harsh salts may hurt your damaged dermis even more, and many typical scrubs will strip away the dead skin but leave your lips defenseless and vulnerable.
Which is why I came up with the Brown Sugar Lip Scrub. I started with my wildly popular lip balm recipe, adapted it with some help from my sugar scrub recipe, and voila - the Brown Sugar Lip Scrub was born! This scrub will gently remove dead skin, but then leave a protective layer of nourishing butters on it to keep your lips kissable and soft. It's got my favorites in there - mango butter, coconut oil, vitamin E oil, and more - all designed to work with the gently exfoliating organic brown cane sugar to clean up the skin, then keep it protected from the elements.
Pick up a jar and you'll find your lips soft and silky, all winter long.
